1. About madeira.rentals

madeira.rentals is an online advertising platform based in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. We provide a marketplace where owners of vehicles, properties and boats can advertise their rentals, and where guests can discover and contact those owners directly.

We are not a rental agency, travel agent, insurance provider or booking platform. We do not process payments, hold deposits or mediate disputes.

2. For Guests — What You Need to Know

• No booking fees. madeira.rentals charges guests nothing. The price shown is the owner's price — what you pay is what you agreed directly with the owner.
• No hidden charges. We do not add service fees, platform fees or taxes on top of the rental price.
• Direct agreement. Your rental contract is with the owner, not with madeira.rentals. All payment, cancellation and damage terms are agreed directly between you and the owner.
• No insurance provided. madeira.rentals does not provide insurance of any kind. Insurance, deposits and liability terms are the sole responsibility of the owner and guest to agree between themselves.
• Verify before you book. We encourage guests to verify the condition of any vehicle or property in person before making payment. We recommend signing a handover agreement with the owner.

3. For Owners — What You Need to Know

• You are responsible for your listing. All information you provide must be accurate, up to date and legal. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your listing.
• You handle all bookings. Guests contact you directly via WhatsApp. You manage your own calendar, payments, deposits and cancellation policies.
• You are responsible for your rental agreement. We strongly recommend using a written rental agreement with every guest. We provide a free template to help — but you are responsible for its content and enforcement.
• Insurance is your responsibility. madeira.rentals does not provide or require any insurance. It is your responsibility to ensure your vehicle or property is adequately insured for rental use under Portuguese law.
• Legal compliance. You confirm that your vehicle or property is legally available for rental and that you comply with all applicable Portuguese laws and regulations.

4. Listing Fees

Listing on madeira.rentals is free for the first 3 months from the date your listing goes live. After 3 months, a flat fee of €100 per month per listing applies.

Owners who wish to temporarily pause their listing (keeping it inactive but reserved) may do so for €20 per month. To remove a listing entirely, simply contact us via WhatsApp.

madeira.rentals does not take any commission on bookings. Fees are for platform listing only.

5. No Cancellation Penalties

madeira.rentals does not impose cancellation penalties on owners or guests. All cancellation policies are set and enforced by the owner. We recommend owners clearly communicate their cancellation policy to guests before confirming any booking.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, madeira.rentals shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from:

• The rental of any vehicle, property or boat listed on this platform
• Any dispute between an owner and a guest
• The accuracy or completeness of any listing
• Any cancellation, damage, injury or loss arising from a rental
• The failure of any owner or guest to fulfil their obligations

7. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
