madeira.rentals is a listing platform for short-term rentals, campervans and boat experiences on the island of Madeira, Portugal. We act as an intermediary connecting travellers with local property owners and service providers.

2. What Data We Collect

We may collect the following types of data:

Usage data: pages visited, time on site, browser type, device — collected automatically via Google Analytics
Contact data: if you contact us via WhatsApp, email or our contact form — name, email, phone number and message content
Review data: if you submit a review via our listing pages — name and review text
Cookie data: see Section 5 below

We do not collect payment information. Bookings and payments happen directly between guests and property owners.

3. How We Use Your Data

To improve the website based on how visitors use it (analytics)
To respond to enquiries sent to us
To publish reviews submitted through our forms
To measure the effectiveness of our advertising (Facebook Pixel)

The legal basis for this processing is: legitimate interest (analytics and site improvement), consent (cookies and marketing pixels), and contract (responding to enquiries).

7. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained for 14 months (Google Analytics default). Contact enquiries are kept for up to 2 years. Published reviews are kept until you request removal.

8. International Transfers

Google Analytics and Meta Pixel may transfer data to the United States. Both companies participate in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which provides adequate protection under GDPR.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent update.
